Data sources and attributions

WildMap draws on maps and data from governments, open data projects and commercial providers. This page lists each source and the credit it requires, as referred to in clause 12 of our Terms of Service.

WildMap is not a government app. WildMap is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government entity. Map data is a planning aid: always confirm boundaries, seasons and rules with the relevant authority before you hunt.

Licences and changes

Datasets marked CC BY are used under the Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 4.0, or CC BY 3.0 AU where stated). OpenStreetMap data is used under the Open Database Licence.

We simplify, reproject and restyle these datasets so they draw quickly on a phone. Any errors introduced by that processing are ours, not the data provider's. Inside the app, each data layer's info sheet names its source, most with the date it was last updated.
